Linda Weir was born in Manchester and studied at the Metropolitan University where she obtained a foundation in visual studies. She graduated with a BA(hons) in Fine Arts and a PGCE in art. Linda also received an MA in Fine Arts from Nottingham Trent Uiversity.
She held many teaching posts between 1983 and 2003 and was a member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art.
Linda is also a founder member of the Manchester Artists Studio Association. In the 1980’s she won a place at the Falmouth School of Arts. Twenty five years on, she arrived in West Cornwall and she now lives and paints in St. Ives. Linda says she gets a constant thrill every day from the Cornish landscape.
She has exhibited extensively throughout the UK in one-women shows most recently and notably at this year’s Royal Academy of Arts summer show. More information on this artist can be obtained from the gallery
